Fluidquip Dissolved Oxygen Measurement
Too little dissolved oxygen can lead to bacterial inactivity and ineffective treatment, whilst too much, wastes energy and can cause unnecessary wear and tear to the aeration system.
Partech's sensors make accurate dissolved oxygen measurement easy. They are highly reliable and accurate as well as straightforward to use and easy to install. They also benefit from the self cleaning action of the FlexTech probe holder and the fouling tolerance of the probes themselves - all of which mean longer service intervals and a consistently more efficient plant.
Partech are in the position of offering both galvanic and optical measuring techniques, as well as portable and fixed monitors. The best technique and instrument will be selected to meet the requirements of your application.
Products available:
Portable Dissolved Oxygen Monitor
The Handy Polaris is the first Handy with the second generation Handy Probe and microprocessor controlled electronics. The Polaris benefits from advances in sensor performance and improved calibration accuracy whilst maintaining the ease of use of the Handy Beta.
The Polaris makes monitoring dissolved oxygen an easy, fast and reliable process, allowing users to check process performance and the accuracy of any online instrumentation. The Polaris is also great for monitoring DO in Reservoirs, Rivers, Aquaculture and water treatment process. The handheld monitor has a large display and an extremely long battery life – many months of normal operation. The system carries out a self-check process every time it is switched on and will carry out calibration of the system at the push of a button.
The long standing ability to store the probe dry removes the need for regular probe regeneration and means that the system is ready for us straight from the bag. The Handy Polaris is supplied with a self polarising, galvanic sensor which is self temperature compensating and can be stored dry. There is no need for any maintenance other than wiping the sensor clean after use. The power consumption is exceptionally low, typically providing 1400 hour use from a single 9V battery.
Optical Sensor for Dissolved Oxygen Monitoring
The OxyTechw² RDO Pro-X Sensor uses the latest optical technology for measuring dissolved oxygen (DO) in demanding wastewater, drinking water, industrial effluent and surface water environments.
The sensor uses optical sensing techniques that provide a fast response and do not need a flowing sample to operate. There is no need for routine calibration, enabling manual intervention to be kept to an absolute minimum. Periodic validation of the measurement can be done as part of standard quality assurance performed by the operator. The sensor uses an extended life cap that does not have a finite life, though replacement is recommended every two years. When replacement of the cap is required the operation takes only a few minutes with no need to enter complex set up codes and no need to re-calibrate.
The need for manual cleaning of the sensor is kept to a minimum through use of Partech’s FlexTech mounting system which places the sensor below the surface of the tank, away from the floating fats and grease whilst keeping the sensor face moving to prevent the build up of a biofilm.
The sensor is part of the WaterWatch² family and works with our 7300w² Monitor. It can also be combined with our TurbiTechw² LA sensor to provide an extremely cost effective package for controlling activated sludge plants.
Galvanic Dissolved Oxygen Sensor
The OxyTechw² GAL Sensor has been designed to provide highly reliable Dissolved Oxygen measurements. The sensor employs the traditional galvanic principle.
The rugged 100 micron, HDPE membrane has been selected to provide exceptional resistance to damage. This, combined with Oxyguard's unique electrolyte and anode material provides long term stability of 3 years and longer without the need for sensor refurbishment or membrane replacement.
7300w2 Monitor to interface to the sensors
The monitor is designed to interface with all of the sensors in the WaterWatch² range. The monitor specification provides all the connections required for 1 or 2 sensors, systems can be created by the use of expansion boxes to include multiple sensors. The maximum number of sensors will be limited by the practicalities of most sites. We anticipate 8 being a sensible maximum although many more can be accommodated.
Combining sensors provides a very cost effective way of simultaneously monitoring parameters such as dissolved oxygen and suspended solids in an activated sludge plant, or pH and turbidity at a treatment works outfall where the sensors can be located close together.
840 Loop Powered Dissolved Oxygen Monitoring
The 840 Transmitter has been designed to provide accurate, highly reliable measurements in difficult, high-fouling applications. The specifically designed sensor utilises a rugged, 100 micron membrane in combination with a unique electrolyte to provide excellent long term stability without the need for sensor replenishment or replacement.
The result is amazing – the 840 is so stable that it can measure accurately for years with practically no attention (service intervals of five years have been reported). Maintenance is as simple as wiping the membrane clean and checking the calibration from time to time. If it should ever be necessary to replace the membrane, this can be done quickly, easily and at very little cost.
