FMC Conveyor Idlers - Series FMC D7000 ...
New Quad Tapered Roller Bearing Technology - Mine duty
The D7000 SST II Idler features all new quad tapered roller bearings and are the preferred choice for extreme bulk conveyor applications such as mining.
Used in conjunction with a new zinc plated stub shaft, this unique design offers significantly higher load ratings and impact capabilities than competing belt idlers.
The ratings exceed CEMA D standards in all sizes and are constant for all belt widths, decreasing only by the weight of the roll.
Because shaft slope through the bearings is minimized, the quad bearing/ stub shaft design also improves service life over thru shaft designs with no reduction of bearing life under applied loads.
The SST Troughed Idler has load ratings that are 37 percent higher than CEMA specifications, while the SST Return Idler has load ratings that are more than five times greater than CEMA specifications.
Advanced Sealing System
The SST Idler has an advanced sealing system that repels contaminants, extends bearing life, and eliminates the need for relubrication.
The first line of defence is a severe duty dual lip primary seal. This polyurethane, low friction contact wiping seal with Teflon additive prevents life robbing contaminants from entering the bearing cavity.
The next line of defence is a triple-labyrinth secondary seal, which uses its narrow gap, close tolerances, and grease-filled clearances to trap abrasive contaminants.
Finally, the “Sealed Forever” grease reservoir eliminates the need for relubrication throughout the life of the idler.
For maximum water resistance, the lubricant used is premium Chemlith Lithilube. Select grease suitable for an ambient temperature range of -40°F to 200°F.
Interference-Fit Pressed Head
The head and roller shell are a radical departure from conventional design. A zinc-plated, interference-fit head presses into the shell, eliminating welding and the potential problems that go with it.
The rugged ductile-iron head is zinc-plated for maximum corrosion resistance while the internal areas are precision machined for accurate bearing/shaft alignment.
The high-tolerance shell features a polymeric powder coat finish that is applied electrostatically and baked on at high temperature for excellent abrasion and corrosion protection.
