Plated surfaces have many advantages. As the surface of chrome is ‘cracked’ it has superior oil retention whilst giving the ultimate in wear resistance and as a bonus, the corrosion resistance is greatly enhanced. It is ideal for rebuilding bearing and seal surfaces as well as crankshaft journals. You can even plate the inside of cylinders.
