Hard Metals Australia Pty Limited (HMA) is a precision engineering company specialising in the design and manufacture of tungsten carbide and polycrystalline diamond tools for the drilling, construction, mining and agricultural industries.

HMA was instrumental in the development and application of tungsten carbide for agricultural ground engaging tools during the 80’s and early 90’s. During this period, HMA introduced the KTMC range of metal cutting tools and raised the profile of the brand with distribution and sales outlets throughout Australasia.

Following the sale of KTMC to the IMC group from Israel in 1998, HMA took on the responsibility for distribution of their new metal cutting tool range in the Australian market. In 2005 after a successful launch, IMC purchased the distributorship ending HMA’s 15 year involvement in the metal cutting tool market.

This event precipitated a whole scale shift of the product focus to industrial applications for tungsten carbide.
