Through-coating measurement

The Cygnus 4 Mk5 is the current hardware generation of Cygnus's flagship General Purpose thickness gauge, built on over 40 years of ultrasonic thickness testing expertise. It uses the Cygnus-pioneered Multiple-Echo technique to accurately measure metal thickness through protective coatings, without needing to strip them first. Compact, light and genuinely tough, it remains simple to operate via its intuitive menu — making it a trusted choice for shipping surveys, plant maintenance and civil engineering inspections worldwide, and is field-proven with units still in daily service after 20+ years.
